
Objective 1:

To evaluate HIV treatment combinations for children and adolescents living with HIV using an innovative trial design.
Objective 2:

To assess the cost and cost-effectiveness of the different HIV treatment combinations to guide health sector resource allocation.
Objective 3:

To assess treatment adherence, acceptability, mental health and well-being, and explore HIV treatment challenges by sex and gender and in disadvantaged populations
Objective 4:

To evaluate novel delivery routes for HIV therapeutics and strategies to support treatment adherence.
Objective 5:

To test targeted point-of-care/near-point-of-care diagnostics for hepatitis B, advanced HIV and HIV resistance
Objective 6:

To address gaps in dosing of HIV therapeutics in children and adolescents living with HIV with pharmacokinetic studies
Objective 7:

To strengthen capacity in sub-Saharan Africa in patient management, clinical trial design and delivery, statistics, economics, and social science through South-South and North-South knowledge exchange.
Objective 8:

To communicate and disseminate effectively with key stakeholders to support implementation of the results and maximise the impact of the trial.
Objective 9:

To maximise the exploitation of CHAPAS-5 project outputs and contribute to building an innovative product development partnership between pharmaceutical originators and Indian and African generic manufacturers to support the production of affordable novel HIV therapeutics and diagnostics
